Ricky Boos was born in Dayton, Ohio on October 17, 1950. He lived at 512 Burkhardt Avenue in the Eastern Hills district of Dayton. He attended both Orville Wright Elementary School and Wilbur Wright High School before moving to Celina, Ohio in early 1969 where he graduated from high school. While his aerospace reputation had already been well established by the 5th grade, he nevertheless enjoyed a wide variety of amusements. As
